Waveney Youth F. C. - F. A. Charter Standard Community Club

Barnards Meadow is the detached playing field of Roman Hill Middle School and some may remember it as the Sports field for the Eastern Coach works site which closed down in 1987.
Since 2000 Waveney Youth F. C. has used Barnards Meadow for their mini-soccer centre and The Saturday Football Club  thanks to a wonderful partnership which has club has built up with the school.

Now the site is in line for a major facelift, thanks to the new 6th form college which will be built on the site of Lowestoft College as part of the School Organisational Review including the 6th form development, the football community of Lowestoft will benefit from a new pavilion incorporating changing rooms, disabled facilities, referees room and a community room with catering facilities, as well as a full size floodlit artificial training pitch.
Waveney Youth F. C. are one of the partners in this development. Work started in November 2009 and will be completed by the beginning of April 2010.
The Barnards Meadow development shows again the value of working together in partnership with other agencies as with the excellent facilities at The Denes High School community Sports Centre, which the club enjoys as a major partner, the club is able to offer it's players the best possible facilities in Lowestoft.
