F. A. Level 1 Coach

The first step to becoming a qualified coach is to enrol on a F. A. Coaching Course, these take place locally and quite often are held at The Denes High School, Lowestoft.

Enrolling on a course is very simple and the application forms together with a course introduction are available by clicking on the links below.
The F. A. Level 1 club coach is generally the first step that you will take. It is designed as an introduction for all coaches with little experience or knowledge about coaching and is the perfect step on to the coaching ladder.
The course is open entry and you do not need any experience to take part, just enthusiasm and an interest in coaching together with the motivation to improve their skills and understanding.

The next F. A. Level 1 Coaching course will be held at the Denes High School Lowestoft.
The cost will be £110 (This will be subsidised for potential managers / coaches for Waveney Youth F. C. )

Typical Course Details

Saturday 9am - 6pm Initial Training
Sunday 9am - 6pm Initial Training
Tuesday 6.30pm - 9.30pm Child Protection Workshop
Thursday 6.30pm - 9.30pm Emergency Aid course
Saturday 9am - 6pm Assessment

F. A. Level 2 Coach

If you are a coach with a few seasons coaching experience, you may wish to start at Level 2, as this is still an open entry course, although we do recommend that those taking part without the level 1 qualification do have relevant coaching experience.

By getting on the coaching ladder, individuals have the opportunity to progress up through the various coaching qualifications while constantly enhancing their skills and knowledge.

Experience is essential for a coach as so much can be learned from the coaching field whether it be working with other coaches and learning from them or coaching different groups of players with mixed abilities.
A successful coach should always be open to new ideas and want to continually improve their individual skills and knowledge of the game. FA courses offer the perfect solution to all coaches who aim to improve their skills, knowledge, experience and enjoyment of the game.

An example of a Level 2 Course Delivered by Norfolk County F. A. is shown below

All Level 2 courses comprise of six initial days of training, followed by two further training days and then an assessment weekend.
