Congratulations To You All

Congratulations to the Waveney Hearts who clinched the Sunday League 1st Division title with a 1:0 win over 2nd place Pot Black. Jai Edwards scored the all important winner.

The Saturday Reserves lost a close League Cup Final at the Crown Meadow against the League Champions Hearts of Oak going down 3:2 with goals from Ray Winney who took his seasons total to 36 to become the Lowestoft & District league Division 1 top scorer, and an own goal not enough to prevent the Hearts from winning the double.

Despite setting the pace on top of the Anglian Combination Division 6 since February, the 1st team had to settle for third place after dropping 2 points against Redgrave Rangers, in a match both teams had to win to clinch the league title which went to Dersingham.

A special mention must go to Andrew Levett and Shaun Howes who reached impressive milestones at the weekend. Andrew pulled on the Waveney shirt for the 700th time in the League Cup Final and Shaun played his 550th game for Club, both are loyal servants for the Club in what are tremendous achievements.

The Under 11A capped a tremendous season by claiming a prestigious cup double by becoming the first Waveney team to win the Under 11 Ipswich & Suffolk Open Cup Final against NSYL League Champions Gorleston Rangers 'A' with a thrilling 5:3 victory to go with their league cup success.
Report

Further success came in the Under 10's with the club winning both Div. 1 and Div. 2 league titles. A point was enough for both Under 10A and Under 10E to clinch successive Championship wins.
