The 6 and 7 year olds (School year 1 and 2) will then advance to one of the newly formed under 7 teams where you will play non-competitive matches for 2 seasons. This will give you your first taste of being involved in a team situation where the result result of the games are irrelevant. The intention is to allow your child to learn how to play football without the pressure that can be put on youngsters to win every game. Your child's football development will be monitored by one of the club mentors who will oversee this age group with the managers / coaches and parents with an independent and impartial eye with your Childs development key to his role. Our 8 year olds (School year 4) will then begin to play competitively in leagues with promotion / relegation at stake as well as the cup competitions to keep the excitement levels up. The final season of mini-soccer will be at under 10 years (School year 5)
The emphasis then moves to 11 a
side football for the Under 11's (School year 6) until they reach their
final year at Under 16's. We hope this brief overview give
you an insight into what playing for Waveney Youth F.C. is like. |

Player development
plays a big part in the Club's development plan with
dedicated training sessions targeting players within the
Club who are not currently in a P. D. C. of a
professional Club. The sessions are
taken by a group of coaches who are enthusiastic and
keen to develop their own coaching skills with a group
of players who are keen to develop and enhance their
football skills and technique. |
