2007 F.A. Charter Standard Community Club Of The Year

Waveney Youth F.C. were officially recognised as one of the top Club’s in the Country when Club Development Officer, Mark Gamble, received the 2007 F.A. National Charter Standard Community Club of the year award on behalf of the Club during the recent England v. Estonia Euro 2008 qualifier at Wembley Stadium on Sat. 13th October.

The official presentation was made during the 2007 F.A. Charter Standard Awards Ceremony at The Castle Hotel in Windsor by the National Club Development Manager, Les Howie. The 5 Club and 7 Schools winners were then congratulated during a pitch-side ceremony in the halftime interval during the England International by Sir Trevor Brooking (pictured left) and fellow officials from the Football Association, which was cheered by a number of players, parents and supporters from the Club who made the trip to Wembley with a coach leaving from Barnards Meadow.

Mark said that the whole day was a fantastic experience with the opportunity to walk out onto the Wembley turf in front of thousands of people topping a wonderful day.
Waveney Youth F.C. has  been recognised by the Football Association for their high standards which the Club prides itself on at a grass roots level and we have set ourselves the benchmark to improve on a lot of good work as we look to a bright and exciting future for not only the local children who join the Club weekly but also to the adult teams, with plans to join
the Anglian Combination League in the near future which will give our current youth players an opportunity to meet their ambitions and play adult football at a higher level. As well as the Club’s committee, managers/coaches, players, parents and supporters for helping to achieve the highest accolade in Junior football, we would also like to thank Phil Woolnough from Suffolk County F.A., Darren Lawrence, F.A. Regional manager and Jamie Houchen for all the support the Club has received from The Football Association since it joined the Charter Standard scheme in 2003.
