The Club's fledgling Player Development Centre entered their first tournament in the 'Canary Cup' at Carrow Rd. Norwich
The first game resulted in a 2-0 win with goals from Jed & James against Hempnall B. Game 2 they lost against Union Athletic 2-1, who somehow managed to gain the upper hand with our boys playing the better football. Goal scorer was Jed.

The 3rd game was against Aylsham 'A' who looked very sharp indeed, we had a game plan and unfortunately went 2-0 down, then had George carried off after twisting his knee awkwardly...things didn't look good. With George in the first aid room, the team changed to a more attacking shape after a 10 minute lay off and quickly pulled the game back ending a thrilling match 2-2. Scorers Tom & Jed.

This left the last game with us needing a win to stop us going home early. Attleborough A were indeed tough opposition as they hadn't lost a match so far and had some great individual players. Waveney soon worked out what they had to do and took the game to the guys in white attacking at every opportunity. Lewis bagged the first, Tom scored a big gaol kick and Danny fired in goal number 3! Attleborough pulled one back with a fine piece of football. Danny drove into the box and was up ended resulting in Lewis firing home from the penalty spot. 4-1 to the PDC, wow what a game.

With all the scores now totted up Waveney sat at the top of league and went through to the semi final. Hempnall A stood between us and some silverware. Hempnall went 1-0 up in the fast paced semi and looked good. Tom fired the equaliser from our own half and Lewis had a goal ruled out. After extra time the boys went down 2-1, but played well at all times and considering we didn't take a full goal keeper we certainly didn't look out of sorts.
