![]() ![]() How many times have you heard youngsters say there's nothing to do round here....
Unfortunately this cry seems all too familiar in this day and age, so Waveney Youth F.C. approached the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and applied for funding to set up the Thursday Night Football Club to give the boys and girls in the local community the opportunity to have something to do....have a game of football in safe and supervised surrounding's throughout the summer. Roman Hill Middle School allowed the use of Barnards Meadow for FREE of charge and with the funding from the CDRP suitable equipment was purchased and F.A. fully qualified coaches were asked to take the Club with the emphasis on fun and games with a mini world cup tournament taking place in June and July to coincide with World Cup fever. The Club is aimed at both
boys and girls in middle schools and is completely FREE of charge for them
to attend. The Club has proved to be an enormous success with around 50
children turning up each week.
