2005 Presentation Evening

The Ocean Rooms
Gorleston

The Ocean Rooms were packed on Saturday 28th May as over 700 players, parents
sponsors and supporters gathered to celebrate the 2004/05 season.

Beach Radio's very own Stewart Lee kept the evening flowing with a very professional performance in compering the night. The guests of honour were two people who have had very good reasons to celebrate recently. Ex - Waveney Youth player, Andy Reynolds has had a fantastic season which culminated in appearing in a hat-trick of cup winning performances at Portman Rd. Ipswich. The young 'keeper was drafted into Ipswich Town's Youth team squad for their semi-final against Spurs and was on the bench over the two legged final against Southampton which saw the blues win the cup for the first time since 1975 with a 3:2 aggregate win.
Having tasted victory, albeit on the bench, he played his part a few days later as Lowestoft Town won the Suffolk premier cup with a thrilling 4:3 victory over Bury Town F. C.
The final part of this unique 'hat-trick' came when history Suffolk- Winners of The F.A. County Youth Cupwas made when the Suffolk County FA Under 18 team competed in their first ever final against Hampshire County F.A.. Andy was joined by another Waveney player in Bradley Hough who went on to score a dramatic winner 3 minutes from time.

The evening's second guest of honour was Suffolk County FA Chairman, David Porter, who brought along the FA County Youth Cup for the evening which the younger players took full advantage of by taking the opportunity of a photograph or two holding aloft the 'F. A. Cup'

A third guest of honour had a more supporting role, as 'Woody Bear' from New Pleasurewood Hills popped along to entertain the dancers as the disco ended a wonderful evening of awards.
