2005 Tournament

This years event was held at The Denes High School on Sat 20th and Sunday 21st August. Over 100 teams took part in the 10 separate age groups with over 2000 people coming along to support teams from as far as Colchester and Norwich together with a large number of local teams. With many teams treating the tournament as essential pre-season preparation for the forthcoming campaign, the competition is understandably of a high level and all of the winners can be proud of the fact that they have come out on top against some top Club's.

As well as the various games taking place, we were grateful to RAW Soccer who set up games, obstacle courses and other skill stations on the all weather ATP to keep the players occupied during their breaks between games. Woody Bear from the New Pleasurewood Hills took the opportunity to come along on the Saturday and many younger footballers, and some older ones, had a photograph taken with the popular local celebrity. 
We also had an official photographer from Sharpshots to take some action shots and some candid photographs during the games. Check out the photographs and see if you were caught out!! 

As always the event, which is also the Club's main fundraising event, is extremely grateful to the many sponsors who supported the tournament. There are links to their websites, have a look at the sites and appreciate their support not only for Waveney Youth FC but to local grassroots football. 

We would also like to pass on our gratitude to Norwich City FC, Ipswich Town FC, Portsmouth FC, Everton FC who all donated raffle prizes together with Bernard Matthews, Wroxham Barns and Dale Warford from Waveney Youth FC 

Finally, Waveney Youth FC have traditionally supported Children's Charities over the previous years, we feel that as one of the largest clubs in East Anglia, our players and supporters should help and support children less fortunate. This year the Club's nominated Charity is the Beach Radio's Help an East Coast Child and we are pleased to to be able to make a donation to this worthwhile cause.
